Just like the songs says....went to the "wonderful town" of Chicago from 11/8-11/12 for the Art Laboe induction into the Radio Hall of Fame on 11/10 and here's some of the things we saw and did....
(above) Millenium Park in The Loop of Chicago and the Essex Inn was the first Hotel I stayed at, then moved to the Palmer House in the heart of Downtown and visited Art Laboe in his king size suite (below) .....
and there was lots of other Art in Chi-Town....the Cloud Gate sculpture in Millenium Park also known as The Bean (because of it's shape)...very cool mirror effects..
There's two 50-foot towers which project citizens of Chicago with the Crown Fountain in between them that reflects the tower images. The fountain was not on during our stay but the Towers were still amazing...
Did you ever wonder where this famous painting by Grant Wood resides? "American Gothic" is at the Art Institute of Chicago along with many Picassos, Monets, Pollacks and thousands of other pieces of art...
Had to have that Chicago Deep Dish Pizza....so yummy...
Chicago is even more wonderful at night...
And I found some Flamingos!! At the Field Museum Gift Shop at O'Hare Airport on the way home...
