Just when local Catholics were celebrating the selecion of the first Latino pope - and the first pope from the Americas (Argentina), those feelings were shattered during the end of last night's Lakers game!

Not only did they lose to Atlanta, 96-92, but Kobe Bryant suffered a severe ankle injury on the last shot of the game, when he landed on the defender’s foot.

Braynt blamed Atlanta defender Dahntay Jones for PURPOSELY walking under him, forcing Kobe to land awkwardly.

Jones - fearing a massive backlash from Kobe fans and Laker Nation, quickly responded that he didn't try to hurt Black Mamba.

Amyway. Kobe is out indefintely, and he has no idea if he’s playing Friday at Indiana.

Oh, Clippers lost at home to Memphis last night.
