Diet mixers help keep the calorific content of boozy drinks down, but there’s another side effect-- they get you drunk more quickly!! THIS explains sooooo much. SMH.
A new study in Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research shows that people who drink diet soda have 18% more alcohol on their breath than those drinking regular soda. Not only did people get more drunk with diet mixers, they also got drunk more quickly.  Why? The body interprets non-diet soda as food which slows down alcohol consumption, while, conversely, diet soda is not treated as a buzz crippler.

As a Bacardi & Diet kind of girl, this is a game changer for me and definitely something I will be thinking about anytime I have a drink!
