Well he is a good friend of Eddie Holman.  You know Eddie's hit "Hey There Lonely Girl" and we had the opportunity to have Eddie perform at an Art Laboe Valentine's Super Love Jam in 2008.  And his good friend Harvey Fuqua was there in the audience.

Harvey started the Moonglows ("Ten Commandments of Love"), recorded with Etta James and was responsible for many successes of Marvin Gaye (Marvin was a member of Harvey & The Moonglows, Harvey introduced Marvin to Berry Gordy, Harvey produced Marvin & Tammi Terrell duets and produced "Sexual Healing" and Marvin's Midnight Love album).  And Harvey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. 

I have been a big fan of Harvey's for many decades, so I asked Eddie to bring him to my dressing room.  And this meeting lead to us having Harvey and The Moonlgows at two concerts in September 2008. 

Harvey Fuqua passed away in 2010 and it was an honor to have worked with one of my idols.  His legacy has been firmly set in the music industry.

That would be Mr. Chuck Berry, who turned 85 on 10/18.  Happy Birthday to the "Father of Rock and Roll" who shaped the early days of Rock with his hits: "Maybelline," "Memphis," "Roll Over, Beethoven!," "Johnny B. Goode" and many others.  And you can still find Chuck Berry rocking across the stage with his classic guitar moves today.

And on 10/24/1964 Chuck Berry was on the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium concert bill with James Brown, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, the Supremes, the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean and others.  The concert, for the TAMI ("Teen-Age Music International") (TV) Show was released the next year as a feature film.
