After decades of fireworks shows atop Mount Rubidoux, the tradition has come to an end. The Riverside City Council has voted to move the Mount Rubidoux Fireworks Show to neighboring Ryan Bonaminio Park and add an additional show at La Sierra Park. The main concern is one that has been long discussed, the fire danger. Just about every year the fireworks on the mountain spark a fire of varying size.
In addition, holding two separate fireworks shows could reduce the size of the crowds which is important because of COVID-19.
Sadly, last year we lost the Mount Rubidoux show because of the pandemic.
