Damn: Social Media Has Been Going In On Lil Uzi Vert All Weekend Over This Picture

Ok.

I'm just going to start this off by saying that I think Lil Uzi Vert is dope and very talented! A little crazy, yes... but still very talented! I'm definitely a fan.

He's also very unique. He's been making a name for himself by dropping super catchy tracks, by his erratic onstage behavior (occasionally jumping off of roofs and other very high things), and by having a really happy, Lil Yachty-type mood. And I'm here for all of it!

BUT, the social media world wasn't really here for the outfit Uzi chose to wear in this photo, so they ripped him apart and roasted the Philly rapper all weekend.

DEAD.

But wait!

Is Uzi becoming a fashion icon? DJ Akademiks asked that very same question.

And Waka Flocka even joined in! First off, he said Lil Uzi Vert is NOT Hip Hop, he's a "rockstar." Then he seemed to defend his "era" by naming off emcees that are arguably incredibly influential and critical to the game.

I also agree with Waka Flocka on this one. While I don't think Uzi is a rockstar (he's very much still a Hip Hop artist), this era of Hip Hop definitely has plenty of redeeming qualities.

The "old head" vs. young person Hip Hop debate is quickly becoming old. Bottom line: All older generations will always look down on younger generations (It's natural. We'll do the same thing someday, as well), and it's too soon to see in present times just how influential an artist or concept will be to the future of Hip Hop.

Check out what Waka Flocka had to say below:

What do you think of Uzi's outfit?
